Care & Instruction

General Care Tips for Clothing

  • Read the Label: Always check the care label inside the garment before washing or cleaning. It provides specific instructions tailored to the fabric and construction of the item.
  • Gentle Washing: When in doubt, opt for a gentle wash cycle with cold or lukewarm water to help preserve colors and prevent shrinkage.
  • Mild Detergents: Use mild, color-safe detergents. Harsh chemicals can damage fibers and fade colors.
  • Wash Similar Colors Together: To prevent color bleeding, wash dark colors with darks and light colors with lights.
  • Turn Inside Out: Turning garments inside out before washing can help protect the outer fabric and any embellishments.
  • Avoid Overloading the Washing Machine: Overloading can prevent clothes from being cleaned properly and may cause damage.
  • Low Heat Drying: When using a machine dryer, use a low heat setting. High heat can cause shrinkage, damage fabric, and fade colors.
  • Line Drying: Whenever possible, line drying is the gentlest way to dry clothes and helps maintain their shape and color. Avoid drying delicate items in direct sunlight, which can cause fading.
  • Ironing: Iron garments at the temperature recommended on the care label. Use a pressing cloth for delicate fabrics or embellishments.

Caring for Different Fabrics

  • Cotton: Generally durable, but can shrink if washed in hot water or dried on high heat.
  • Linen: Tends to wrinkle easily. May require ironing or steaming.
  • Silk: Delicate fabric that requires gentle hand washing or professional dry cleaning. Avoid high heat and direct sunlight.
  • Wool: Can shrink and felt if not handled carefully. Often requires hand washing or dry cleaning.
  • Polyester & Blends: Generally easy to care for, often machine washable and dryable on low heat.
  • Denim: Wash inside out in cold water to prevent fading. May shrink slightly upon first wash.

Caring for Accessories

The care instructions for accessories will vary depending on the materials used. Here are some general tips:

  • Jewelry:
  • Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays, as these can damage or tarnish metals and stones.
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Store jewelry in a dry place, preferably in individual pouches or compartments to prevent scratching.
  • Bags & Wallets:
  • Avoid overfilling to maintain their shape.
  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed. For specific materials like leather, use appropriate leather care products.
  • Store in a dust bag when not in use.
  • Scarves & Shawls:
  • Follow the care instructions based on the fabric (silk, wool, cotton, etc.).
  • Store folded or rolled to prevent creases.

Specific Product Care

Please refer to the individual product page or the care label attached to your item for any specific care instructions that may differ from these general guidelines. Products with unique embellishments, delicate materials, or special constructions may require more specific care.

Printful Product Care

Many of our custom-made items are produced through Printful. For these items, you'll often find care instructions on a separate tag or label. Generally, for printed apparel:

  • Wash inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Tumble dry on low or hang dry.
  • Do not iron directly on the printed area. Iron on the reverse side on a cool setting if needed.
  • Do not dry clean.
